The Appalachian District Health Department built new, full-service, dental clinics in Alleghany, Ashe and Watauga Counties in order to serve the children of low income families. They provide dental services for children up to 20 years of age. They fill cavities, take x-rays, clean teeth, provide sealants, and operate the same way as any other full-service dental office. If your have Medicaid or Health Choice Insurance, bring your information with you on every visit. If it is your first visit, please arrive 15 minutes early to give their staff an opportunity to obtain your medical information. Children must be supervised with a parent or responsible adult. They do not restrain children in the dental chair. They encourage parents to stay chairside with your child while they work on his/her teeth. The Dental Clinic corporates with community organizations to provide dental public health to Alleghany, Ashe and Watauga Counties.

Hello...My name is Stephen Hill, I live in 28694. I was disabled by a MVA and have not had any dental care since losing my corporate dental plan. No teeth cleaning or any kind of dental work, no cavity work, nothing since 1999. Consequently, my teeth are in bad need of cleaning, I have a cavity plus a recently chipped toothcccc that's going to cause me to lose yet another tooth if it isn't fixed really soon !!
